The claim, registered by James Geoghegan and A. Alfred Dickie and delivered by Seán O hUadhaigh as solicitor for the plaintiff, was taken out by P.T. Daly who "by reason of the aforesaid libels has been greatly prejudiced and injured in his credit and reputation and in his said office and brought into public scandal, hatred and contempt. The Plaintiff claims £1,000".
