Reprint on a postcard of a satirical poem by Brian O'Higgins (originally published in Irish-American paper 'Irish Freedom on 15 March 1911), concerning the crowning of Queen Mary and with reference to Dame Ishbel Maria Gordon, Marchioness of Aberdeen and Temair, (1857–1939), who was satirised as ‘Lady Microbe’ in the Irish nationalist press for her anti-tuberculosis campaign in Ireland. Much of O'Higgins' work appeared under the name ‘Brian na Banban’ [which he took from a poem by Alice Milligan on Brian Bórama/Bóru].
