Whelan complains that Connolly has only secured him the position of watchman when he feels he should be given a job as Harbour Master of Howth or Dun Laoghaire. He also mentions that Jim Larkin is interested in his case. Newspaper cutting relates to the settlement of a political libel action over whisky.
