Papers of actress and republican Máire Nic Shiubhlaigh. Includes letters and cards sent to Nic Shiubhlaigh from friends and associates including Padraic Colum, Alice Milligan, Lennox Robinson, Joseph Holloway and Seumas O'Sullivan. Also included are typescripts of plays by, amongst others, Lady Gregory, Seumas O'Kelly and Alice Milligan, theatre programmes, documentation relating to her radio broadcasting work and drafts of lectures and autobiographical writings that relate to her involvement with the theatre movement in Ireland, the early years of the Abbey Theatre and her participation in the Easter Rising.

| Description: | Letter, dated 7 January 1926, from the architect and theatre critic Joseph Holloway to actress Máire Nic Shiubhlaigh, congratulating her on her engagement to Eamonn Price. Holloway also reminisces about the very early days of the Abbey Theatre. Also included are hand drawn Christmas cards sent by Holloway to Nic Shiubhlaigh, which contain his ownk ink sketches. Dated 1938 and 1940-1941. |
