Letter from M. Donovan to Éamonn Ceannt requesting sheet music,

1906 June 19.

Letter from M. [Michael] Donovan, jeweller and grocer at West End House, Skibbereen, Co. County. Donovan requests a copy of the Cumann Oireachtas and 'The Carley Pipes' for his son, Bernie J. Donovan, who intends to compete on the union pipes, warpipes, violin and fideog (flute). He notes that Bernie is unaware that he has been entered into the competition, but feels that, whether Bernie competes or not, he "may as well take this step" since the boy "will be amongst you [pipers] that week".
