Clarke complains that James Egan has not been in contact with either of them and this is likely due to him not wanting to give bad news. He comments on her riding a bicycle and asks that her sister Madge write a letter to P.J. Byrne concerning the Daughters of Erin in Limerick. He writes that Maud Gonne has left and was disappointed at not being a bridesmaid at their wedding. "MacBride is still here and he too does be quizzing me about it and I answer by promising to get him fixed up with a certain lady of his acquaintance".
