Description:Russell refers to the difference in prison sentences from the period 1917-1921 and the date that the letter was written. He refers to the trial of Liam Leddy under the charge of membership of an illegal organisation, and Attorney General Conor Maguire's handling of the case. Russell refers to a prisoner "named Ahern from Cork" who became insane during his imprisonment and was subsequently released. Russell states: "The Clann would do a good days work if Breathnach were met in the manner suggested". Russell signs letter "Regards to Connie".
