Description:Correspondence and legal documentation from the offices of Richard D. Kane, 79 Talbot Street, Dublin, relating to the sale of lands for the purpose of building the railways.
Much of the correspondence relates to a case taken by Henry McKnight against Robert Henry Kinahan, John McDonnell and James Digges La Touche, for the recovery of £2,000 invested by him in the Dublin & Enniskillen Railway, Mr. Richard Kane acting as his solicitor. A Mr Duncan Robertson, Agent of the Bank of Kells is also mentioned in this case. Some of the papers relate to a case taken by Mr. McKnight against his former solicitor, Richard Kane. There is correspondence on other cases also.
