William J. Gogan Collection,

William J. Gogan was arrested in January 1920 for the display of a Republican ballad in one of the family's shops. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment in Mountjoy Jail, with a further three unless he undertook to keep the peace, under the D.O.R.A. (Defence of the Realm Act).
