James Kirwan collection,

Collection of letters (one hand-written from Dan Breen), receipts, In Memoriam cards for I.R.A. members, associated papers relating to I.R.A. activities and two photographs. James Kirwan, publican, Parnell St., Dublin was Quartermaster in D Company of the I.R.A. during the War of Independence and was later a member of G.H.Q. Intelligence under Michael Collins. His public house in Parnell Street was one of the main meeting places for I.R.A. members during the War of Independence.
