Writes: "I am after a long and tedious march. We started from the other side of Washington on the Potomac and passed through Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and are now encamped on the Tennessee River. The rebels on the other side. Enclosed is my likeness in my undress uniform [not enclosed]. I hope you may yet see the real one. I [?] able to send 110 dollars of my bounty to my family but haven't as yet received an answer".
