Letters from E.C.R. Armstrong, National Museum, and John Ribton Garstin, Braganstown, Co. Louth, mention Thomas Ulick Sadleir's work. Another letter from Garstin dated 9th October 1915 mentions the death of his son William Fortescue Colborne Garstin in the First World War - "Killed in Action between the 7th and 10th August, 1915, in the War against Turkey (Dardanelles), in the 40th year of his age ... With his death and mine will end, in the male line, our branch of a County Louth family seated at Braganstown since A.D. 1666, at least."
