In Collection: Udolphus Wright Papers, 1894-1952.
Description:Contains letters and postcards from Lady Augusta Gregory to the Abbey Theatre actor, stage manager and house electrician Udolphus Wright. Her letters relate for the most part to Abbey Theatre business, notably the American tour of 1911-12 and subsequently his threats to resign from the company ca. 1916. She does also refers to personal matters, including the death of her relative Geoffrey Persse in Gallipoli in 1915, Wright's marriage in 1926 and having W. B. Yeats to stay with her in Coole Park in 1930, and to domestic matters, among them her ongoing struggles with a radio and a Remington typewriter. Gregory addresses Wright as 'Dear Dossy'.
