Contains some correspondence relating to legal affairs of the Smyth family including letters of Messrs Bayley and Maxwell, Alexander Durdin and Joseph Lindsay Curtis. Includes a copy of a letter from 'C.H.B.' to Harriet discussing her rejection of a marriage proposal from Grice [1831], a letter of Rowland Henry Tyssen Smyth to his mother from Felstead School, [1889] and a letter from John Henry Graham Holroyd to his wife Harriet.
