[for related materials see Lismore Castle papers NLI MS 43,605-43,610, MS. 43,383/21 MS 43,383/22 and MS 43,383/25] Also contains letters relating to the purchasers of the Heathcote estates in Ireland, letters regarding a windmill belonging to James Daly which was infringing on Richard Smyth's property, letters from Charles Maunsell, Smyth's attroney concerning legal matters,[includes a letter stating 'The first document I found in which the name of Smith was connected with Ballynatray was the deed of sale from Sir Walter Raleigh to Richard Boyle 7th December 1602 which appoints Richard Smith of Ballynatray one of the persons to give poss [ession] of the estates therin to said Boyle...You have copies of all or most of these documents in a large brief which I distinctly remember you kept from me to refer to and put into the safe in your study where it ought still to be...'.

Also contains correspondence relating to property in Woodmount, including letters from Aylmer Martin, law agent for the tenants of Woodmount, Denis O'Callaghan Fisher and Margaret Fisher. Also includes a letter from the bishop of Waterford giving Smyth permission to build a gallery in Templemichael Church. Contains copies of some outgoing letters.
