The letter, written by a resident of Foxrock, Co. Dublin, describes the writer's experiences of Easter Week 1916. Reference is made to the food shortages, difficulties in getting newspapers and information of the events in Dublin and the destruction of Dublin city centre - 'A wounded soldier compared it to Ypres. No photograph gives any idea of what its like!'
