John Payne Jennings was a photographer from London, who initially worked at Cranfields in Dublin, before moving to Belfast in the 1860s where he opened his own photographic studio. Moving to Dublin in 1870, he opened a studio in Rathmines, where he established himself as a successful and well regarded photographer. He returned to London in 1878 and in the 1880s produced a successful series of photographs of the Norfolk Broads.
