Description: | Correspondence regarding Gwynn on his candidature for a seat in parliament, the Congo question with Casement, the conduct of Thomas Esmonde and C.J. Dolan, a plan at the Irish Convention for improving education, advice for Redmond’s talk with Horace Plunkett on the procedure of the Irish Convention. Also contains a letter from Douglas T. Hammond to Gwynn about the staffing of battalions of the proposed Reserve Irish Brigade and a letter from Edward McLysaght to Gwynn enclosing a letter of his to Lloyd George. Includes a copy of two printed tables showing rates levied on agricultural land in counties and the whole of Ireland from 1899-1900 and 1906-1907, and the average of the annual levy for the eight years. Also includes an annotated leaflet titled 'The Irish County Councils. Self-Government in Being'. |
