Students support the USI [Union of Students in Ireland] campaign for Votes at 18:
We believe that votes are a democratic right of all our young people, because almost 75% of young people are working and therefore paying their full share of income tax and social security. The remaining 25% are studying, and will provide the expertise and professional qualifications, which the country needs...In the enlarged E.E.C., Germany, Luxembourg and the U.K., have already introduced votes at 18 - we believe the recent elections in Germany showed its effect. The campaign needs the active support of every student...we have a responsibility to get out and work for the change. For leaflets, posters and information contact your local S.R.C. Office, or U.S.I. Head-quarters, 113 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2.
