Smith and Edward Carson, published in the 'Belfast News-Letter' and a leading article from unidentified author published in the 'Morning Post', regarding the determination of Ulster unionists not to become subjects of a Dublin Parliament. The 'Morning Post' article attempts to explain the nature of Ulster Unionists, "For the people of Ulster are not only sincere, but they are fanatical and they can not help being fanatical.
